Dear Wildcat Families,

Welcome to the new 2010-2011 school year at Harmony Elementary. Already members of our PTA are hard at work planning programs and projects that will benefit our students and their families.

Last year, thanks to their time and dedication, along with the support of our wonderful parents, teachers and staff, Harmony’s PTA was able to provide our school and students with terrific programs like:

· Funded cultural events or educational enrichment programs for each grade level

· Free fall festival

· Free bingo

· Classroom set of drums for music

· Hosted an African Drum Assembly for the entire school

· Helped support staff professional learning opportunities related to math & technology

· Provided funds for new boom microphones for school events and 2 Flip video recorders

· Monetary support of the Family Learning Night and Red Ribbon Week

· Helped support the Science Force Program with volunteers

· Provided funds to help support the new Robotics Club for 4^th and 5^th grade

· Provided two appreciation luncheons and one back to school breakfast for all staff

· Provided financial support for the design and production of the yearbook.

None of this could have happened without YOU! We are so proud of the support we received last year, and hope to accomplish even more this school year. Thanks to all who have helped in the past and we look forward to your continued support.

This year we will once again offer: Free Fall Festival & Free Bingo to our students and their families. We also plan on hosting a Spring Dance in late April for all students.

This year, our fundraising efforts will go towards the following items to benefit our students: Cultural Development, Community of Readers, Ongoing Teacher Education, Technology Additions to the Classrooms, and much more…

PTA is parents, teachers, and community members working together for our children to make a difference in their education, health, welfare and safety. It is a far larger job than any one of us could do alone. We need your encouragement and the support of your membership to help us continue our efforts.

If you haven’t already joined, please take a moment to complete the membership portion of the All in One form and return it with your membership dues in a sealed envelope. Remember…Dads, Moms, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles can become a member and support your child’s school.
